I just finished reading this last night, and while I enjoyed the first half of the book in terms of her writing and interactions with her parents, the second half I was forcing myself not to skip huge chunks of pages. I have a massive aversion to abbreviated names in memoirs, I would rather the author just give them an alias, so “GH GH GH GH” was really getting on my nerves. I laughed when I saw your sample passage from the book (about Coldplay) because I very nearly threw the book down at that stage and stopped reading it. I’m glad I finished it but it definitely could be less “I’m so cool and desirable and bohemian” and more real.
